Video Editor and Audio/Video Support

Overview
As a Video Editor/AV Support, you will work closely with the Creative Director and Production Team on mainly editing videos for the company’s projects. Other responsibilities include videography/filming and audio for podcasts and interviews.

Video Editor and Audio Video Support Job Duties:

• Meeting with Creative Director, Production Team to understand the briefs

• Go through footage, and select scenes based on their dramatic and entertainment value and contribution to story continuity. The editor is looking for the best combination of videography, performance, audio quality, consistency and timing

• Trim the segments of footage to the lengths needed for the film and assemble them into the best sequence to tell the story

• Suggest and select suitable music for videos

• Insert music, dialogue and sound effects, using editing equipment

• Review the edited videos, make corrections and prepare it as a first cut, or rough cut, for Directors and Production Manager to view

• Make revisions, as requested by the director and producers, and prepare the final cut for release

• Occasionally film footage for company and client work

• Monitor and help set up high quality audio for recording from video or for podcasting

Qualifications

• High commitment and determination to get into this industry

• Having the necessary skills or media production experience may be helpful. The following subjects are relevant:

• communication and media studies;

• fine art/visual art;

• graphic design;

• information technology/multimedia;

• photography/film/television;

• Audio skills

• proficient in using specific editing software packages such as Avid, Final Cut Pro or Premiere Pro

You will need to show:

• a keen eye for detail and a critical mind;

• creativity and a passionate interest in film and video editing;

• patience and concentration;

• the ability to listen to others and to work well as part of a team;

• a high level of self-motivation, commitment and dedication;

• organisational and time management skills;

• the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines;

• communication skills, written and oral in both English and Vietnamese.
