[HCM] [Agency] MSLGroup Vietnam: Strategic Planner
ROLE SUMMARY: A Strategic Planner develops brand and integrated communications strategies for clients. This includes targeting the right audience, as well as setting the tone and messages of the campaign. For this, you will combine market data, qualitative research and product knowledge in a brief that enables the creative team to produce ideas that will move consumers. You will work with PR/Digital/Experiential specialist teams to ensure brand and strategic alignment of touchpoint planning and executions.
A Strategic Planner works with the account team to develop and deliver strategic pitch presentations and proposals. You will contribute towards the development of client relationships and help build a genuine partnership between the agency and its clients.
You ensure that you are aware of the Vietnam marketplace, developing a good understanding of consumers, the communication vehicles and
clients’ brand portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
STRATEGIC PLANNING:
• Develop brand and communication strategies that demonstrate our understanding of clients’ brands and business, gaining insights by analyzing a range of information in great detail, including demographics, socio-economics and the market for the client’s product
• Help provide a unique service to our clients by custom-tailoring MSL’s Influence+Impact services to be genuine solutions to their needs
• Write creative briefs or participate in writing briefs with inputs and directions
• Take part in, facilitate and lead strategic discussions and brainstorms, both with clients and internally
• Work with the account team to develop and deliver strategic pitch presentations and proposals
• Work with PR/Digital/Experiential specialist teams to ensure all teams build and execute a coherent integrated communications campaign
• Monitor the success of the campaign as it runs, suggesting changes and improvements where necessary
• Analyze the campaign results, be proactive in sharing them with the internal and client teams
• Assist in regular reviews of clients’ brands as and when required
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
• Support superiors to plan and lead the activities of the Planning team
• Contribute to an open and collaborative team atmosphere
• Share information effectively and maintain strong working relationships with other teams
• Maintain positive relations with Publicis Groupe counterparts and third parties important to clients’ planning activities
CLIENT CONSULTING:
• Contribute towards the development of client relationships and help build a genuine partnership between the agency and its clients
• Write client deliverables such as proposals, reports or other materials to a high standard; and present to clients accordingly
• Write Vietnamese perfectly, with very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
• Use critical thinking to clarify and expand instructions
• Use questioning techniques and listening skills to deepen your understanding of client’s briefs and needs
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:
• Develop a good knowledge of trends, marketplace and industry developments that affect our clients and our agency’s business
• Proactively seek understanding of the new tools and methodologies that are being developed, especially by Publicis Groupe and MSL Gobal and use these
to constantly improve the agency’s product
• Engage with the account team on an ongoing base to foster understanding of the strategic planning function, to jointly identify opportunities and sell in
services to clients
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• +3 years of strategic planning experience in an agency environment including a successful track record of planning integrated campaigns
• Solid understanding of PR/Social/Experiential disciplines is a great plus
